Meet the Presidency:
Dear delegates of ZYGMUN 2023,
Welcome! This year, our ZYGMUN conference is focusing on reducing inequality within and among countries, with some committees featuring topics from the MUN Refugee Challenge. In our committee this year, not only will we be discussing the future of our environment, but also the employment of refugees. Although this is my first time chairing and first year doing MUN, I have always been heavily interested in politics. Having lived my whole life in Poland, being from Vietnam, and attending an international school since 2nd grade has opened my eyes to many issues and perspectives around the world. MUN has taught me how to seek solutions and work with those around me to solve the problems we face today. Furthermore, it has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and gain public speaking skills. I hope that all delegates feel the great significance of this conference and know that we can all learn from each other. In addition to participating in MUN, I have also been playing soccer for four years and am involved in clubs at school such as Help4Refugees, Cooking Club, and the Medical Health and Sciences Union. Outside of school I volunteer for the Polish Red Cross and I like to hang out with my friends in my spare time. I look forward to seeing you all! Hi Everyone!
This will be my second time attending ZYGMUN, but my first time ever chairing at a conference. Although only my second consecutive year of MUN, international relations have always been an interest of mine, developed through my attendance at an international school for ten years, or my Polish-Israeli family. These experiences have helped me discover new perspectives. Through my two years of MUN, I have learned to apply these interests into collaborating on resolutions to help combat various topics that are relevant to all our lives. While not the real United Nations, MUN still has very read-world implications, teaching us and raising awareness about these issues. Although the procedures and formality of MUN can be stressful at times, I encourage you to go into ZYGMUN 2023 with an open mind and a willingness to collaborate with your fellow delegates. Excluding MUN, some of my other extra curricular activities include Cooking club, Student Council, and Help4Refugees. Outside of academics or activities, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, listening to music, and traveling. I look forward to meeting everyone in April!
