Director of Administration
Dear Directors, Student Officers, Delegates, Admins, and guests,
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the ninth iteration of ZYGMUN, a conference set in the heart of Poland that invites delegates to engage in meaningful, diplomatic dialogue and tackle some of the world’s most pressing issues. This year, I have the honor to be serving as the Director of Administration.
This will be my third year doing Model United Nations. I have participated in three conferences, both within the school and outside of Poland. I am originally from Warsaw, and I have lived here my whole life. I speak Polish and English fluently, and I’ve been learning Spanish and French. I am currently in my senior year of High School in the IB DB Program.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Balancing socioeconomic equity with global prosperity”. With the rapidly advancing world economy, addressing social inequalities is essential. The theme aims to capture the importance of fair access to opportunities and resources in fostering global prosperity, understood as economic well-being, sustainable development, and innovation. This year’s theme, which combines the Sustainable Development Goals 8 and 10, challenges delegates to think about how to advance equity without hindering global development.
I am looking forward to all of the fruitful debates and discussions!
See you in March,

Director of Delegate Affairs
Dear Directors, Student Officers, Delegates, Admins, and Honored Guests,
Welcome to the ninth edition of ZYGMUN! It’s an absolute honor to be part of this incredible event, held right here in the vibrant city of Warsaw. This year, I’m excited to serve as the Director of Delegate Affairs, and I’m thrilled to be joining you for what promises to be a thought-provoking and inspiring few days.
Model United Nations has been a big part of my life over the past three years. It just means so much to me after I’ve taken part in conferences both here at school and beyond Poland’s borders — and each time, I’ve come away with new perspectives, new skills, and new friendships. ZYGMUN would be another great opportunity! A little bit about myself now. I’ve grown up in Warsaw, but I'm from Shanghai. I’ve always appreciated how international and dynamic Warsaw can be, and I just love it! I hope you will also like it after the journey spent with ZYGMUN. I speak Chinese, English, and Polish, and I’ve been working on improving my French and German. (So, maybe we can talk in mixed languages and see who’s better.) I’m also a senior in the IB DB Program. Outside of school, I love listening to music, doing any active sports, and spending time with close ones.
This year’s theme — “Balancing Socioeconomic Equity with Global Prosperity” — couldn’t be more relevant. In a world where economies are developing rapidly, it’s important not to lose sight of fairness, inclusion, and sustainability. The theme, which brings together SDGs 8 and 10, pushes us to think about how we can create a more equitable world without slowing down progress — a delicate but necessary balance.
What makes MUN so special is that it gives us the space to think critically, speak passionately, and collaborate globally. I can’t wait to see the energy, creativity, and commitment you’ll all bring to the conference.
Wishing you an exciting and meaningful ZYGMUN experience.
See you all in March!
Warmly,
Sally Tao

Dear Directors, Student Officers, Delegates, Admins, and Guests,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 9th annual ZYGMUN conference hosted at the American School of Warsaw. This year, I will have the honor of serving as the Director of Public Relations. This conference strives to provide delegates with the opportunity to engage in passionate conversations surrounding some of the world’s most pressing issues.
On a personal note, this will be my third year participating in MUN. I have previously attended 8 conferences, both as a delegate and student officer. Through MUN, I have had the opportunity to travel to amazing cities such as Milan and Prague and to meet new people who share similar passions. Even though I am from Poland, I have lived in various countries, including the United States, and most recently Serbia. One of my biggest passions is language learning, and I am fortunate to speak 5: Polish, English, Serbian, French, and Spanish. I am currently an 11th-grade student at the American School of Warsaw, in my first year of the IB Diploma Program. Outside of MUN, I also participate in other activities such as football, speech and debate, and knowledge bowl.
This year's conference theme, “Balancing socio-economic equity with global prosperity,” encompasses two UN sustainable development goals, 8 and 10. In our modern world, we must strive to ensure equal opportunities for all individuals, no matter who they are. During committee sessions, it will be crucial for delegates to create innovative solutions to address these global challenges.
I am looking forward to meeting you all in March!
Sincerely,
Łucja Perl

Honorable Delegates, Distinguished Guests, Student Officers, and Admins,
It is my utmost honor to welcome you to the 9th iteration of Zygmunt Model United Nations. A conference hosted here in Warsaw, Poland, at the American School of Warsaw, where Delegates come together and debate to tackle some of the world's most pressing issues. As this year's Director of Digital Media, I'm excited to make sure that the impactful work done at ZYGMUN IX will reach a broader audience.
This is my third year being a part of Model UN, which has allowed me to gain important experiences from four conferences in Europe. I was born in Germany, and I'm Polish. I speak three languages: Polish, German, and English. I've lived most of my life in Germany, then moved to the United States, and now to Poland. Currently, I am a junior at the American School of Warsaw, embarking on the challenging IB Diploma Programme. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling the world, and hold a big passion for music, history, fashion, and media.
The conference theme of ZYGMUN IX is "Balancing socioeconomic equity with global prosperity." In today's world, this is important because it emphasizes the need for action towards social inequalities as the global economy continues to grow. This year's theme connects to Sustainable Development Goals 8 and 10. Which helps us think about how to create fair chances and resources so everyone can succeed, grow sustainably, and innovate, without slowing down the global progress. I can't wait to see the fruitful debates and discussions, and the ideas that come out of them.
I'll see you all in March!
