Meet the Chairs:
Isabela Prouty
American School of Warsaw Dear Delegates,
I would like to begin by welcoming you all to the 8th ZYGMUN conference. To quickly introduce myself, I am 16 years old and a junior at the American School of Warsaw. I am honored to serve as one of the chairs for the Legal Committee (GA6). This is my second time chairing and my third conference. I joined MUN to expand my knowledge on international politics, and in my first year, I was quite lost but after participating and taking every chance I got to debate, I have learned an immense amount since then. Which is why I strongly suggest you take advantage of this chance to share your opinions and make the most of this experience. Whether it's your first conference, or your fifth, I encourage everyone to push themselves to have a fruitful debate. Raising POI’s, creating amendments, speeches in favor, and against, will make this year's conference engaging and entertaining! I wish you all the best experience in this year's ZYGMUN conference. I can't wait to meet you all in March! Isabela Prouty Chair of the Legal Committee (GA6) |
Clara Morales Alegret
International School of Hamburg Dear Delegates,
Welcome to the Sixth Committee of the General Assembly! There is no other committee I'd rather have my first chairing experience in. Let me start by introducing myself; I'm a sophomore at the International School of Hamburg, and I’ve lived in Germany for most of my life, though I’ve also resided in Spain, France, and China. ZYGMUN is my fifth conference; MUN is a huge part of my life, but other passions of mine include music, theatre, and journalism. I'm also a pathological vinyl collector. I've been involved in MUN for a long time, and I've encountered a variety of committees and topics that have required collaboration and lots of sacrifices and settlements. My advice for making the most out of this conference is to practice the art of compromise; every delegation will have conditions for certain solutions, so being ready to justify your clauses and adapt them as the debate progresses is imperative to succeed. Most of all, don't be afraid to take a passionate stance. It's what makes a debate memorable. I'm looking forward to seeing you in March! Sincerely, Clara Morales Alegret Chair of GA6 |
