Welcome to the 2024 GA1 ZYGMUN conference! Like most MUN conferences, in the Disarmament and International Security Committee, everyone will be representing different countries that have some relations to the topic that will be debated during the first half of the conference. The topic in question is “Preventing the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs) to Non-State Actors” a fairly popular topic in today's modern world. If you are a beginner MUN debater, no worries! This conference is open to both beginner and longtime participants due to the simple and flexible nature of the topic. With the help from your fellow delegates, you will be able to craft a nifty or creative solution to preventing the proliferation of WMDs to Non-State Actors.
This coming spring, I will have the honor of serving as one of the chairs, along with the exceptional Samu Jambor, to be serving as a chair on the GA1 committee. This will be my first chairing experience I have ever undertaken and I am looking forward to this fresh and exciting experience.
For some background, I am an 18 year old American who was born in Bamberg, Germany and was mostly raised around Europe apart from three years in the U.S. I now attend the American School of Warsaw here in Poland where I have lived for almost three years.
Other than MUN, I enjoy running, biking, watching movies, reading Stephen King, hotpockets, and listening to hip-hop/rap/electronic music.
I am looking forward to seeing you all at ZYGMUN 2024!

Dear Delegates, Welcome to the 7th ZYGMUN conference! To briefly introduce myself I am a 17 year old Junior at the Budapest British International School in Hungary. Though I am back in my home country, I have also lived in India, Japan, the United Arab Emirates and Poland.
My first experience with MUN was as a press member for ZYGMUN in 2022 and I have come a long way since. This year I founded the MUN program at my school and ZYGMUN 2024 will be my first conference with this new group. I am very excited to be attending my third ZYGMUN conference and I am extremely grateful and fortunate to be attending as a student officer. This year our topics will include Preventing the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs) to Non-State Actors and International Cooperation in the Peaceful Usage of Outer Space. These topics both share global importance as over 90 countries have aspiring space programs, and preventing WMD proliferation to non-state actors is crucial in discussions for global security, demanding international cooperation and coordinated strategies. It is my hope that with the spirit of this year's conference theme in mind, you will be able to work together to create both reasonable solutions and responsible practices to address the issues at hand. I look forward to seeing you all at the conference!
