Welcome to ZYGMUN 2024! I am honored to serve as a chair of this year's Social, Humanitarian & Cultural Committee! I am currently studying at the American School of Warsaw as a junior. I’m Polish and I have lived in Warsaw my entire life. In the past, I have attended conferences including JoMUN, ACMUN, ZYGMUN, BERMUN. I am the President of ASW’s MUN Club and Amnesty International Club, which reflects my deep interest in social issues and human rights. I enjoy listening to music, learning languages, and playing tennis in my free time. My goal for this conference is to guide the committee toward constructive discussions and impactful resolutions. I also hope to create an inclusive and collaborative environment within the committee.
The topics of the SOCHUM committee align with the theme of this year’s conference "Cultivating Sustainable Communities through Responsible Practice." Addressing the root causes of displacement and providing long-term solutions are crucial and water and sanitation are fundamental for community stability and sustainability in Eastern and Southern Africa.
I look forward to meeting you all in the spring!

Berlin Brandenburg International School
Dear Delegates,
Welcome to the VII ZYGMUN conference and the Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee (GA3)! To briefly introduce myself, I am 15 years old and attend the 10th Grade in Berlin Brandenburg International School, which is in Berlin, Germany. This is also where I am from and have lived most of my life. Outside of MUN and School I do competitive dance and like to hang out with friends.
I started MUN 2 years ago in 8th Grade and have since attended over 4 Conferences. Additionally, I have recently become the chair of the club at my school and therefore organize and chair our weekly session. However, this will be my first time as a chair at a conference and I can’t wait to help guide the debate and make everyone feel welcome.
Our committee's focus this year aligns with the theme: Creating Sustainable Communities through Responsible Consumption and Production. We'll delve into two critical issues: Protecting the rights of internally displaced persons in the Middle East and North Africa, and Ensuring Equitable Access to Clean Water and Sanitation in Eastern and Southern Africa. With over 16.2 million internally displaced persons in the MENA region and more than 381 million people lacking basic sanitation services in Eastern and Southern Africa, these topics are not only globally significant but also urgently demand our attention and solutions.
I can’t wait to meet you all in March!
