Meet the chairs:
Dear future delegates,
I have been attending the American School of Warsaw since grade nine, and I cannot express my excitement of being a part of coordinating this year’s conference. Attending six different conferences around the world has taught me valuable skills of listening, debating, and researching that I look forward to continue in my future. I am originally from the United States, but I have lived overseas for most of my life. Previously living in Abu Dhabi has given me a unique perspective concerning Middle Eastern affairs, including the conflict in Yemen. This civil war, often considered one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world currently, has killed thousands, many of them children. I am so grateful that we now have an opportunity to discuss and debate solutions to this issue. My hopes for the security council is that delegates compromise and challenge each other to form creative and thoughtful solutions that strive for a better world. I look forward to fruitful debates!

Dear Delegates,
I have attended several conferences before, and it is that experience that I plan to bring into ZYGMUN this year. A couple of the conferences I've attended include, but are not limited to ACMUN, as well as BERMUN. In the fall of 2018, I attended BERMUN as a delegate in the Security Council, which is some experience I plan to include in debate for ZYGMUN. Being half Polish, I can personally understand why fostering peace and security for future generations is so crucial. I personally choose to believe that one of the most important steps towards peace and security is ensuring that everyone has a national identity, whichever one they please. It's therefore that I believe that the Rohingya crisis is of vital importance to this theme, this conference, and the UN as a whole. It is thanks to the workings of the UN that I have a nation I can call home. It is also why the situation in Yemen is of such vital
importance, not only for this theme but for the future of the UN. In my spare time, I love programming, flying, and more video games than I probably should. I look forward to seeing you at the conference.
Ian Wilder, Chair of the Security Council.
